How does the Law of Attraction work? How to use the Law of Attraction? Using my personal experience and what I’ve learned so far, I answer these and other questions related to the topic here
I’m not one to believe in things I can’t fully comprehend. It’s hard for me sometimes to believe in magic and mysteries.
However, I was somehow forced to start believing.
After around 6 rough months this year, I could finally move back into my home, the place I love.
The exact moment I realized I didn’t have to go back to that place I was living in before, I felt deeply grateful I almost cried tears of joy.
I said “thank you, thank you” in my mind, grabbed my journal and wrote about how grateful I was feeling. I felt extremely lucky and blessed.
The day after that, after having gone weeks without hearing from my clients, an old client who hadn’t contacted me in about two years sent me an email with a huge translation project.
I felt so grateful again, I actually said “thank you, thank you, thank you” out loud.
What came after that was crazy. Translation projects started pouring! I got email after email and project after project. I kept feeling grateful for every single dollar I was making and went to bed every night knowing things were getting better.
That’s how I finally gave in. I was convinced (and still am) that that gratitude journal was literally changing my life!
It was Law of Attraction working its magic on me.
The Law of Attraction comes with the realization (and relief) that we’re not entirely alone. That yes, we’re responsible for our own lives, but we’re also part of something way bigger than ourselves and that something gives us back what we radiate. The Law of Attraction comes with the realization (and relief) that we're not entirely alone. What is the Law of Attraction?
The Law of Attraction is a law that dictates that whatever energy you put into the Universe, that’s the energy you’re getting back to you. You only get what you give.
Simply put, like attracts like. Whatever you’re focusing on, you’ll get.
When I first learned about this, I just couldn’t believe humans to have such power. Yeah, right. This gotta be a joke.
So, trust me, I know how absurd it sounds at first. I was skeptical too!
But, as I told you at the beginning, I’ve experienced this in my life. Both for positive and for negative energy.
How does the Law of Attraction work?
Your thoughts, conscious or not, shape your emotions. Your emotions and thoughts together shape your vibrations. Your vibrations go out to the Universe and constitute your energy. Your energy dictates how you act, but it also attracts the energy that’s alike.
We’re all a huge mass of energy moving around. We’re never static.
And since we’re all part of a huge Universe, you only attract the energy that’s in harmony with you!
Keep in mind that the Law of Attraction is always working. It’s like the law of gravity. There’s no way we can scape it.
And this is so scary. Just like you’re capable of attracting money, love, health into your life, if you leave your negative thoughts unattended you’ll also be able to attract misery.
I’d say we’d all met that one person that, no matter how hard they work and how smart they are, they seem to be static in life. They don’t achieve what they allegedly deserve.
What’s “the Universe” anyways?
This is a question I kept asking myself whenever I read about this.
Is it a different name for “God”? Is it the outer space, stars, and planets included? Are the planets really playing a role in how much money I make??? I DON’T GET IT!
I still don’t get it completely. I think nobody does because it’s been hard for me to find the answer I’m looking for. However, let me try to put in words my little understanding of it for you.
According to https://www.universetoday.com/, the Universe is:
[…] the sum total of all existence. It is the entirety of time, space, matter and energy that began expanding some 13.8 billion years ago and has continued to expand ever since.
So, as I mentioned before, we’re energy. Our bodies are masses of energy moving around. And, since we live inside the Universe (duh!), we’re part of its energy, right?
My knowledge of physics is practically non-existent, but the conclusion I’ve come to is that when we radiate a certain type of energy, the Universe matches us with other things, people and situations that radiate the same energy we do.
And since we’re all connected in this huge and probably infinite textile, it’s like our energy pulls the matching threads in it and brings closer to us whatever fits our vibrations.
Areas of your life you can improve with the Law of Attraction
The results of the Law of Attraction are truly magnificent and they can manifest in every single area of your life.
Your vibrations and your energy shape your relationships, your health, your finances, your body.
Think you’re poor and broke all the time. Dwell on how hard it is for you to make money. Focus on your debt. Stop feeling grateful for the money you do have and the things you can afford. And you’ll be suddenly trapped in a misery hole. No matter how hard you work and try.
Or look in the mirror and tell yourself you’re fat. You’ll be gaining more weight in no time.
It also works the other way around.

7 actionable steps to make it work for you
As I said before, the Law of Attraction is always working. This means you don’t have to wait a single second to start using it to your advantage.
You can start using it today!
If at this point you’re still a little skeptical about all of this but still curious, I recommend you just give these exercises a try for 7-10 days at least. Try what feels more natural to you because this won’t work unless you take it in and really believe it.
1. Get rid of limiting beliefs
No matter how hard you think consciously about what you want, if your subconscious beliefs don’t match, they’ll screw you up.
You are the product of your environment.
They hold us back.
2. Practice gratitude daily
I’ve mentioned several times already that focusing on the positive is key, right? Well, this only means being grateful.
When you start looking around you and noticing the things that make your life wonderful, your attitude changes quickly.
Remember like attracts like, so if you want to vibrate at the right frequency and attract more of what you like, you have to focus on the good.
This one may be tricky for some people and I understand that having someone telling you to be positive all the time can be quite annoying. Some people take it to the extreme sometimes.
Start with something simple. For example, I don’t know you and I don’t know what you’re going through, but I’m quite sure you have at least these 3 positive things:
- you have an Internet connection;
- you know how to read;
- you have time to read this post and learn about something new.

3. Visualization tools
Nothing works as strongly as visualizing.
It may be because it raises your vibrations or simply because they act as reminders of your big, juicy dreams.
Either way, you’ll want to add them to your daily routine. The best part? There are many visualization techniques, so you can always find one you feel the most comfortable with!
Affirmations are the whole deal.
They consist basically on positive sentences you repeat yourself either aloud, in your mind or by writing them several times.
For example: “I love money and money loves me” or “Every day I get closer to my goals”.
Beware of negative sentences like “I don’t want to be broke” because your subconscious can’t really distinguish that don’t and it’ll end up focusing on the “broke, broke, broke”.
Affirmations can reshape your beliefs and help you get rid of mental blocks.
To make the most out of them, write them down on your journal at least 5 times in the morning and 5 times before going to sleep.
Work on 1 or 2 affirmations at a time so you can really focus on those instead of trying to change your whole life in a week with a bunch of different affirmations.
Meditation is a powerful tool many successful people swear by!
If you’re a beginner, you probably think that to meditate you need to go to some sacred temple in Nepal. Well, it’s not like that at all!

You just have to sit in a calm room, with your back straight and your eyes close. Take deep breaths and focus on the sensation it produces. Feel how the air you inhale is cold and the one you exhale is a little warm.
Whenever you notice your mind wandering, thinking about things that happened or things you have to do, etc., bring your attention back to your breathing calmly. Don’t judge yourself!
If you find this hard to do, which you probably will if you’re just starting out, use a meditation app like Headspace or look for guided meditations on YouTube.
6. Celebrate every victory
Let the Universe and your subconscious mind know when something goes right!
Whenever something positive comes your way, don’t just let it slide like it’s no big deal.
No matter how small the victory, every time you take a step closer to your dream life, you have to celebrate somehow. Do a happy dance, say “THANK YOU!” out loud, tell someone, jump around, whatever. You do you.
7. Take action!
Bear in mind the Law of Attraction won’t make your dream car appear on your front door out of nowhere just because you imagined it over and over again.
You still need to work for the things you want.
But, once you start putting this advice into practice, you’ll work confidently knowing that the Universe has your back all the time.
I use to be an extremely skeptical person about all of this.
And I believe this adds a lot of value to my experience because this works so well and it’s so real, that it made me change my mind and start believing in things I use to find extremely ridiculous.
So, if you’re anything like me and this is one of the first times you hear about this, you’re probably rolling your eyes and thinking this is a bunch of nonsense.
However, giving these exercises a try won’t hurt you. Give them a try! If you, for some reason, regret listing what you’re grateful for or putting together a vision board, please contact me 🙂
